a lovely photo lady! a wedding show business card!

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

wedding show business cardeva is lots of fun – not a surprise considering she’s a pal of jaime windon’s. she asked me to start a mini-brand for her photo biz, photoladylove. this is hopefully the first of 6 different mini cards for her. we were in a hurry for this one since eva is participating in her first wedding show this weekend in richmond, va! it’s all very exciting & creating this for eva was awesome. we chatted on the phone for quite a while coming up with all sorts of fun ideas. finally landing on this fun doodle, eva was thrilled, & so am i! :) good luck this weekend, eva!

p.s. the final size of this card is biz card size: 2 x 3.5in.

more vino, please! another wine themed save the date!

Monday, August 17th, 2009

i like wine. i cannot deny that. since i created the last save the date, i’ve had more colorful ideas on the brain relating to the theme. i was thinking a little bit pop-art, and a little bit rock n’ roll. i think the color possibilities are endless & i’m hoping that someone very cool decides to go for this one.

you’ll notice that it sort of matches quinnep colors – what can i say? i love them. :)

a wine themed wedding save the date

Wine Theme Wedding Save the Dateagain, thanks to google analytics and it’s ability to tell me what people are searching for, “wine theme” came up a few times. i really wanted to keep it simple, less about the grapes and more about the drink. ;) i was picturing super old wine bottles in a sunny window of an old house – something straight out of a Van Gogh painting.

if you’re missing the people doodles, don’t worry. i’ve got 2 on the books and will be working on them in the coming month. :) happy friday!

fish/ocean themed wedding invitation!

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

the other evening, i was messing around making random patterns with my beloved AI & through all of that messing around, i was inspired to make shapes of those patterns using compound paths. if you care to know more about compound paths, please let me know (i won’t hold my breath). the final product was this, 2 fishies jumping happily in the deep blue sea under happy puffy clouds. :)

i’m having lots of fun with these, & will have more to share as i think them up!

happy thursday!

prairie/grass themed save the date!

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

in my journey into the incredibly confusing world of google analytics, i found that some search terms that led people to my etsy page included “feather themed invitations”. i decided that it made sense to create designs that people were searching for so next time, they’d actually come up with something they were looking for. yesterday, feeling inspired by feathers i came up with none other than…a grass-themed save the date.

i’d like to explain briefly where this design came from, because it did in fact start with feathers. one of my new favorite things to do is do a live trace of bitmap images inside of illustrator. the design at the bottom of this card is in fact a photo of the tops of a bunch of feathers that i then did a live trace and manipulated slightly to create what you see here. i’m feeling a new leaf being turned, perhaps i’m moseying away from my typical doodles, but these are still doodles, just with a more artistic, free-flowing idea behind them. i’m having fun with this – i hope you are, too. feel free to let me know!

quinnep doodles wedding invitations

Friday, August 7th, 2009

i have decided to put some effort into designing wedding invitations – it’s one of my favorite things to do, aside from doodling, of course! making clean, and classic designs is relaxing, entertaining, and rewarding…interested, or know someone who might be? let me know!

doodle del dia: katie&robert!

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

My latest and greatest: Katie&Robert. Hailing from Fairfax, VA Katie and Robert asked me to doodle them for their Big Day in March of next year. Katie and I did some chatting via Google and came up with some great ideas including Cherry Blossoms and pink, pink and more pink. We added a little blue for the main man and everyone is happy.

Best of luck to you, Katie and Robert!

doodle del month: melissa&michael

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I know. It’s been ages. weeks! I’ve been busy. Doodling, living, having fun. Anywayssss…

Melissa and MichaelThis is Melissa and Michael. My favorite partner in blondness, Jaime Windon, recommended (thank you, ma’am) me to Melissa to do a doodle, and POOF – here we have it! I had a ton of fun playing with Mike’s face fuzz and his glasses. Each one of these I do enables me to try some really new fun techniques and makes me love Illustrator a little more each day.

Keep the requests coming! The best is yet to come! :-D

doodle del dia: tracy’s engaged!

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

I have never met Tracy. I’ve only seen a picture of her, and her 10 closest friends! My friend Emily brilliantly came up with the idea for me to doodle all of Tracy’s friends as a present for her bridal shower that’s coming up this weekend. It turned out really well (if I don’t say so myself) and I’m so excited to see it printed and framed! Hooray for weddings!

doodle del dia: heather&robert

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Hello, people.

It’s been a very long time. I’ve been in hardcore wedding mode by both attending a wedding and doodling my booty off. My latest you ask? I would like to introduce Heather and Robert. They are getting November 21, 2008 in Denver. Heather is super cute and was really great to work with. They even wanted their 2 tiny puppies to join in the fun. :) Perfect!
