a father’s day doodle :)

June 25th, 2009

Again, Janiré, one of my biggest supporters & fans came up with the brilliant idea for me to doodle a Father’s Day doodle for Francis, who ALSO used to be one of my coworkers at the worst-place-on-earth. We have both moved on to much bigger & much better things and I was so very excited to be able to create this doodle for him. Both Janiré & Francis have been great friends & I was THRILLED to hear this doodle was a huge success on Sunday!

julian is 12!

June 17th, 2009

All of Janire’s kids are so much fun - they win all of the games at the summer picnics, they can sing, they can dance, and of course, they are all beautiful! Julian just turned 12. Being a 12-year old boy, it makes sense that one of Julian’s favorite things to do is play video games. Julian was so fun to draw - I doodled a video game controller the best I knew how based on the one on the family room floor at Jay’s. :)

I was thrilled to hear Julian loved his doodle - I really can’t wait for the rest of the kids to see theirs!

Happy birthday, Julian! :)

happy birthday, jasmine!

June 16th, 2009

I’ve been waiting almost a month to be able to post this doodle of the absolutely fabulous Jasmine! Jasmine just had a birthday & finished her 1st year of college! She is very much into fashion, modeling & dancing. Her mom, Janiré - a former teen CoverGirl model, insanely hard-working single mom & bad ass Web developer (yay for computer nerds!) asked me to doodle her looking sassy so I figured a runway was the perfect plan! She just knew that Jasmine would love something creative!

Jasmine has 5, yes - 5 younger siblings and I’ve had the chance to doodle them ALL! Stay tuned!

Happy birthday, Jasmine! :)

HONFEST 2009! queen hon!

June 15th, 2009

This past weekend was FINALLY the highly anticipated HONFEST in Baltimore! Jaime Windon, aka, the blonde photographer, insisted I join her for 2 days of fun! Specially for the event, I created Queen Hon - who was 6 feet tall (mostly beehive)! I am so excited - she was a huge hit!!! I have to thank Jaime for this photo and for inspiring me to participate! I also owe Jessi Ringer of 5RingsPhoto a HUGE thank you for carting my car-less butt around all weekend!

For more photos from the 2009 Honfest, visit www.theblondephotographer.com.

P.S. Photo booth shots will be available later this week!

so exotic!

May 27th, 2009

Kristi Odom of Photos by Kristi had quite an exciting wedding in Africa and asked me to doodle a couple doodles as a present for her husband, Paul. She had them printed to canvas, which I am dying to see.

It was a chanllenge drawing elephants and lions, but after a few tries, I think I got it! The colors from the photographs she sent were amazing, and makes me want to take a trip to Africa to actually see what Kristi was able to capture with her camera! Amazing!

business cards! wahoo!

May 15th, 2009

Thanks to Greg and the gang at Next Day Signs Express in Bethesda, Maryland for the AMAZING work on my brand new quinnep doodles business cards! They are a nice thick stock and I had the small doodle of me spot coated as well as the entire orange side for a pretty sheen! I could not be more pleased with the way they turned out and I can’t WAIT to start passing them around. Last weekend while I was in Hagerstown with Jay, I stopped at the Kate Spade Outlet and got myself an orange business card holder that matches just perfectly! This is a very exciting Friday - hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

my sailor & me

April 30th, 2009

I thought it was high-time to redo the original doodle I did of Jay and me. We’re outside, so technically, he should be wearing his cover, but for the purposes of this doodle, I’m going override the Navy on that one. :)

the stevens family camper!

April 27th, 2009

It’s definitely almost summer time! My friend and coworker Jenn came to me asking if I could just doodle her new (cutest ever) camper. I’ll doodle anything! From campers to lions, to ladybugs! It was so fun to draw this camper. It’s cute & vintage with its little wing, the retro materials and it’s the perfect size for Jenn & her girls! I am jumping the gun posting this - I haven’t gotten final approval, but I am just really excited about it, so I couldn’t wait!

a mama’s day present :)

April 20th, 2009

Miss Natalie Franke of Natalie Franke Photography came to me asking for a doodle she could give to her mama for Mama’s Day! Apparently, her mom doesn’t like her picture taken but luckily for her, doodles are around to capture moments without having to say “cheese!”

Natalie’s doodle includes her mom, Karen, her sister, Caroline and her lacross stick, her doggies Sophie and Bethany, and of course Natalie with her camera! The plan is to have CanvasOnDemand print this for Natalie - and I can’t wait to see the final product!

happy birthday, joe!

April 14th, 2009

The incredibly fun MK McKenna of MK McKenna Photography asked me to doodle up a birthday present for her main squeeze, Joe.  He loved the doodle I drew for Jaime’s birthday, it was only natural that MK would get him his very own!  MK wanted to make sure their favorite fuzzy creatures were included, as well as their brand new fantastic house. MK very much enjoyed the outfit I drew on her in Jaime’s picture and asked me to use it again! I don’t typically like to duplicate, but ask, and you shall receive! :)
